Sweet Summer Mystery 2023



We are having a Sweet Summer Mystery Quilt Along and you can join us for Free! Three months June, July and August. Two Easy Quilt Blocks broken up over 3 months. This awesome pattern uses the Folded Corner Clipper Ruler to make cutting easy and fast! Your video and pattern with instructions will come to you through email the Fouth Friday of June, July and August. You just need to sign up by June 29th. It's Free! 

We are excited to kick the Summer off with another Sweet Summer Mystery. As always the mystery runs June thru August with clues sent to you by email with a video included. June 30th will be our first clue, July 28 will be our second clue and August 25 will be the final clue with assembly instructions and a reveal of what the final quilt will look like. Sweet Summer Mystery Quilts are simple to make and stress free.We will be using the Folded Corner Clipper Ruler by Creative Grids again this year. If you did last years Summer Mystery or you have listened to me sing the praises of this ruler you may already have the ruler. Below are the yardage requirements to make this 76” x 76” square quilt. If you need help putting your fabrics together, adding fabrics from our shop or just want us to look at your fabric selections to see if they make sense for this quilt we are happy to help. We may have suggestions that will give you the best possible turnout since we know the mystery pattern. Fabric Yardage
Accent Fabric - 1 yard - Should stand out but coordinate with your other fabrics. See Joan’s color choices below.
Background Fabric - 2 ½ yards
Border Fabric - 2 ⅓ yards - Borders can be the same as background and your blocks will float on the quilt OR choose a border fabric that coordinates with you block fabrics and acts as a frame for your quilt.
Block Fabrics - ⅓ yard of 7 different fabrics OR If you would like to make a two color quilt you can use 1 ½ yards of one fabric. Make you background and your borders the same and you have a two color quilt. Your accent color should be a shade darker than your block fabric.
Binding - ⅝ yard - I am matching mine to my accent color OR you can match to your border color.
Backing - 4 ⅔ yards - extra for longarming is included.

Joan’s Color Choices
I have chosen a Christmas theme for my Sweet Summer Mystery Quilt with red as my accent color, a white/w color print for my background and my borders, 7 different coordinating fabrics for my blocks and the same accent red for my binding. We are happy to help you figure out your quilt color scheme just come in and we will help. This quilt will look great in ANY color scheme. Pastels, brights, any holiday, patriotic, black and white prints or anything you want to put together.

Requirements: If you want to participate in this years Sweet Summer Mystery just sign up now. You will need the Folded Corner Clipper Ruler for half the blocks and some of borders. We used this ruler on last years mystery quilt so you may already have it.
