Collage Quilting

Want to add a more artistic style to your Quilting? How about Collage Quilting? Paint a picture with fabric then quilt it up into a wall hanging or pillow cover. We will be using Emily Taylor's, the Collage Quilter as she is known, method of collage quilting. You will need to have her book which can be purchased here at the shop called, "Collage Quilter -Essentials for Success with Collage Quilts" which is full of good information on color, value and Emily's method of adhering your fabrics to your background canvas. You may choose to use one of the free patterns in the book or you can purchase one of her patterns printed on a fabric background. We have a number of patterns to choose from or you can even draw out your own pattern if you like. No sewing machine required for this class but quilting/finishing ideas will be discussed in class.

Better At Binding Class

I get lots of requests on how I bind a quilt. How do you get crisp pointed corners? How do I join the binding ends correctly? What stitch do I use on the back of my binding ? I have put together this class to share my techniques and whether you are new to quilting or just want to improve your binding skills this class will make you a better binder! If you are a Janome or Elna Sewing Machine Owner I can share my favorite method of machine binding with your Blind Hem Foot(G Foot) too!
