Class and Event Calendar

Make a modern and minimal winter quilt. There are two ways to assemble this quilt. You can follow along with the larger block assembly style on the 1-color or 4-color version or stay simple with the square and HST scrappy version. Whichever way you choose, everyone will want it but you will want to keep this cool, 60?x72? work of art for yourself. The class will be taught using rotary cutters, but because it is made of mostly squares, HSTs, and strips, the pattern is AccuQuilt friendly especially if you choose the scrappy layout. Ask Darla for more information about die suggestions. The class is rated Intermediate, (not for sissies!) because there is not a lot of repetition in piecing. There isn?t a lot to do in January anyway, so your homework will keep you occupied during the snowy season.

Songs For All Seasons

Display the hymns from childhood on this charming lap size 47 x 63 quilt designed by Darla of Sweet Stitches Quilt Shop and featuring the "Songbook" panel by Moda which makes the sides of the cute churches. Darla was inspired by a line from Great is Thy Faithfulness: "Summer and Winter and Springtime and Harvest" so each church block incorporates traditional quilt blocks representing four seasons. The seasonal blocks are repeated in the pieced borders at the top and bottom of the quilt. Choose fabrics to match your own style and decor. You may also decide to decorate each church according to the season. As you can see, there are lots of opportunities to get creative with this project.

Beth Dutton Quilt

Saddle up, cowboys and barrel racers, and get ready for a fun adventure from the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch. Anyone who is a fan of the television series and its stunning photography has probably noticed the many lovely quilts used on the set. One quilt that is instantly recognizable is Beth Dutton?s quilt of red and black on a grey background. This simple yet beautiful twin size quilt is the perfect size for curling up to binge watch every single episode. Order our kit to make one just like ours, or put your own brand on it by choosing other fabrics. This project would look great in any three-color combination, if that trips your trigger. Once we get started in class, we will have an episode of Yellowstone playing in the bunkhouse on the big screen so we can feel like we are a part of the show as we work on our quilts. If you want to really get in the spirit of the modern wild west, wear your favorite boots and hat. To get a jump on construction, we suggest you round up your fabrics and have them cut before class so you can get right to work. Cutting instructions will be provided prior to class.
